|Names of Ancestors:||Morris (Moshe ben Yechiel Mikhael) Vinitsky (b.1868)
Wife Sara Bluma (maiden name unknown) (b.1866)
Emigrated from Skidel, in the Grodno Guberniya, to London sometime 1894 and 1899, where Morris worked as a tailor.
At some point before he emigrated Morris Vinitsky is said to have served in the Russian army. Morris Vinitsky's father Yechiel is said to have been a grave-digger.
I do not know Sara Bluma's maiden name -- on her gravestone her father is is listed as Yitzhak Eliyahu Halevi, but I do not believe that Halevi was his last name. Sara Bluma had a sister Zelda. |
|Religion of family Member(s):||Jewish|
|Village/Town/Province/State of family:||Skidel, Grodno Guberniya|
|Range of years which are required for the research:||1868-1900|
|Specific dates and events:||Moshe Vinitsky (born 1868)
Sara Bluma (maiden name unknown) (born 1866)
Moshe & Sara Bluma married in 1886, we assume in Skidel|
|Occupations of family member(s):||Moshe Vinitsky was a tailor after he emigrated to London - I do not know if he was a tailor in Skidel
His father Yechiel was supposedly a gravedigger according to one of my relatives - I do not know if that is true.|
|Names of any spouses and how they relate to your family lines:||Moshe Vinitsky's wife was Sara Bluma.
Yechiel Vinitsky had two wives (I do not know if due to death or divorce) |
|Sibling names:||Moshe Vinitsky had a half brother who emigrated to Baltimore (name possibly Paul) - no other half or full sibling names known
Sara Bluma had a sister Zelda|
|Dates of immigration:||Between 1894-1899|
|Information available from previous research:||Searched Ancestry.com and JewishGen exhaustively. Spoke to all possible relatives. Although I found out more information relating to their lives after they emigrated to England, the above is all that I know about Moshe and Sara Bluma and their families from the time they lived in Skidel. (I do know for certain Moshe and Sara Bluma emigrated from Skidel, however I do not know whether or not they were born there. Based on the Ancestry.com DNA map, the earlier family roots were possibly in Lithuania prior to that.)|
|Goal of research:||I am trying to extend the trees of Moshe and Sara Bluma back additional generations, as well as identify any siblings that they had, and find any documentation of their parents that I can.
However, for the purposes of this bid, I would like to do a "one subject" project for Moshe Vinitsky -- consisting of vital records (birth, marriage, census) -- with a photo provided of any documentation found.
I would also like the bid to include an indication of whether a military records search is possible for records for Belarus of that time period (assuming that those records exist and are held in Belarus).|
|Branch of service, rank, and years served in the military for any family members:||Moshe Vinitsky supposedly served in Russian army -- if he did, it was likely in the late 1880s / early 1890s.|
